Now is the time

We went back to West Monroe for Thanksgiving.
Sunday Bro. Jerry Jones preached.

It really was the Word. No doubt.

We always want to wait for "some better time"...

We want to wait until we are good enough to earn it...
Or we want to wait until things are perfect...

Now is the time to claim your miracle.
Now is the time to work for God.

Foreign Missions Division of the UPC

I sent an email to the foreign missions division to ask how many missionaries we have.

Here is what he said...

"There are 170 couples and 10 singles. 180 missionaries in all."

Can you believe that? That does not seem like enough people to reach the whole world.

Check this out:

There are 193 countries in this world.

As of July 04 the population of the world is 6,372,797,742

The current population of the U.S. is 294,822,949

So we have 180 missionaries trying to reach about 6,077,974,793 people!

This really puts foreign missions in a new light.

These people really need our help.

They need prayers, money and people!

God please give me a vision for missions and a love for souls!

What's your passion?

At a missions service last night the lord spoke this to me while I was praying.

I was praying for a passion for souls the lord helped me realize that...

I HAVE BEEN PASSIONATE ABOUT SOME STUPID STUFF!

I have been passionate about, music, basketball, skateboarding, entertainment...

I don't want to go into eternity having spent my life on things like this don't matter.

Now is the time to get a passion for the lost.
A love for people, a love for souls.
A passion for the work of God.

In Jesus Name.

Is that your final answer?

If you were to meet God today would your life in its present condition be your final answer to him?

I heard this in a sermon.... And it is powerful!

For most of us the answer is no!

Now is the time...

Bearing Fruit / Reaping the Harvest

This is great! It is part of a post that Bro. Dough Joseph made on the "apostolic man" message board.

I have never thought of the difference in bearing fruit and reaping the harvest...

Here is the post:

Scripturally, bearing fruit refers to our manifesting evidence of God's changes to us (i.e. His work within ourselves). The scriptures use a different metaphor for the evangelizing of lost souls: reaping a harvest. A fruit bearing tree or plant bears fruit according to its nature. When God changes our nature (redeems and regenerates our spirit/soul), then we bear fruit: That is, we show forth the gifts of the Spirit, the fruits of the Spirit, evidences of holiness, etc.

Reaping a harvest is different. You are not the plant. You a harvester. The plant is outside you, and while you can sow seed and water the crop, only God can give the increase. Then, you can harvest.

Psalms 118

The Lord gave me this chapter before I went to the doctor...
It gives me peace.

Here are a few verses from Psalms 118

17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.
18 The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.
19 Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD:
20 This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.
21 I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.

I just removed my tv and dvd player

To find out why please look at this short paper I wrote up to explain it...

http://www.videolinktech.com/tv.htm

Edited on 8/19/08 by kj:
The link above does not work anymore.

At New Life Church in Austin you have to sign something saying that you will not have a tv if you want to be involved in ministry... we signed it so we removed our tv while we were there.
It did not hurt us. It was probably good for us.

We have hope and faith

We had a great service this morning.

Bro Bernard preached about "At Midnight"
And how when Paul And Silas were in jail at midnight they praised the lord and prayed.

We have hope because of Jesus Christ.
And because we have hope... we have faith.
And with faith all things are possible.

No matter what is going on in the christians life they have hope.

I have a new slogan

When it comes to certain issues of "holiness standards" I have a new slogan to go by....

God Knows. We don't.
